Live Nation presents…… Rammstein. Winnipeg, MB May 10th.
I first heard about Rammstein back in 1998 when the Family Values Tour was going. First thing I thought was this band will never last in the “mainstream”, singing all in German. How was I to know 14 years later not only would they still be around but more popular than ever. Thursday night in Winnipeg, MB I saw one of the most amazing shows I have ever seen in my life!
Starting out with the band being lead onto stage by their bass player in what seemed to be a funeral precession onto a stage that was connected to the main stage via a ominous looking scaffolding. The photographers were walked down to the photo pit area and asked to not shoot the first 3 songs and boy am I glad they did not allow us in there. With 15-20 foot flame bursts I would have surely lost all of my hair as well as most of my face! Standing 30 ft away you could feel the heat and that was just about to close.
I thought right away this band is the KISS of our generation. The theatrics were off the wall and very dark. Think of the Hellraiser movies coupled with hardcore german metal playing the whole time. After the first 4 songs the lead singer disappeared under the stage and reappeared in what looked like a butchers outfit covered in blood and rolling out a big old black pot. In this pot was the Rammstein keyboard player who then proceeded to duck into the pot to allude the flames being shot at him.
The show only got better from there. The keyboard player who seems to play the role of the “fool” jumped around the stage like a little monkey at one point being chased by fireworks thats seemed to come from no where. He was probably the most active of the whole band with a treadmill set up around the synth area that kept him walking all night while playing. He even did some crowd surfing well ok crowd dingying he got into a full size dingy and paddled his way around the crowd and the people on the floor were more then happy to help him out. This is fun show to watch after some action packed sports betting games via ทางเข้าบาคาร่า.
Rammstein played for more then a hour and a half straight. No real breaks, No crowd banter (or sucking up to the crowd) just rocked for probably pretty close to 2 hours and 3 encores. If you like pyro, blood, and one helluva show then next time you see Rammstein playing your city go see it.
Sorry for the over abundance of photos but this band needed this many to show you what they can do in just 3 songs.
